Friday is PieDay!

Back in late October, Tizer Gardens advertised they had apples for sale - BIG bags of apples. I had intended to buy one bag, which is manageable when hand-cutting into Pies, but here's what I ended up with:

                                                         20+ pound bags of:

Liberty Apples

       Johnny-Macs &

        McIntosh Apples (my favorite!)

Thank goodness they kept well in a cold garage, because I didn't get to most of them until mid November!  I peeled & cut & pre-cooked into Apple-Pie Mix & froze flat in plastic bags. Ended up with 13 bags of future Apple Pies!  Why not more?  Well, there's nothing like the smell of a freshly-baked pie to encourage you to keep cutting, is there?!  🍏🍎 love, faith.

Happy Father's Day - there's still time!

Father's Day is right around the corner!  Don't worry, you still have time to make something sweet!  Love, faith.

Patriotic Love Notes - Memorial Day

We have many patriotic holidays in the USA & rightly so - we have a LOT to be grateful for :)  With Memorial Day in mind, I've created some Patriotic sayings for the center of your "Love Notes" Heart Mug Rug.  Here's what a few look like:

So far, I have one page of Patriotic Message Boxes (12 per page):

God Bless America                       God Bless the USA
Land of the Free                            Home of the Brave
Sweet Land of Liberty                   Let Freedom Ring
Stars & Stripes Forever                 Home, Sweet Home
Thank You for Your Service          Thank You for Your Service
Red, White & Blue                          Red, White & Brew

This is just a start!  If you have some Patriotic favorites you wouldn't mind sharing, please let me know in the comments section - the more, the merrier!  If you'd like to make up a few Love Notes Mug Rugs, download the free Patriotic Message Boxes here:  DTD-Love Notes Extra-Patriotic  Please be sure to let me know what you think & send photo(s)!   With gratitude to those who serve(d) & those who love them, faith.

P.S.  Note that the Patriotic Message Boxes are a "Love Notes" pattern "Extra" designed to be sewn (paper-pieced) into the center of your Heart Mug Rug.  See Love Notes Pattern for complete details on how to use Message Boxes.  Pattern contains 58 Messages & is available for purchase at your favorite local quilt shop (First Stitches & Stitchers Garden) & also online at:

All Dogs go to Heaven - Quilting Gallery

WOW - summer really got away from me!  Mostly it was hot & dry too early with scary-close forest fires.  Lots of people lost homes & pets so it seems rather petty to complain about the heat.  With the recent (& unusual for August) rains, life seems almost back to normal.  And, the older I get, the more I realize that loss is a normal part of life.  And, it's what makes the in between time all the more precious.

Found a really great site called the Quilting Gallery - A Place for Quilters to have FUN!  I'm honored to be included in their Quilter Blog List - yaaa!!  Lots of free quilting projects, giveaways, swaps & competitions (friendly!) - so be sure to check them out!

The theme for this week's Quilters Show & Tell is "Pet Quilts".  My entry is called:  "All Dogs go to Heaven"

You can win all sorts of goodies from the sponsor just for commenting/voting, so be sure to chose your favorites!  "All Dogs" has 45 votes so far!

All YOU need to do to enter is submit a photo of your quilt that fits the theme & fill out a very short entry form.  Here's the list of previous winners, as well as future themes:  Quilting Gallery - Show & Tell

Looking ahead, I see "Little Things" is on the agenda very soon - Mug Rugs, Purses, etc.!  Geez, not sure where I can find a Mug Rug pattern with pizzaz!  lol  Happy Quilting!  Faith.
