A Little Break to Make Masks

Took a little break from writing a quilt pattern to make masks & so far, one donation Lap Quilt for St. Peter's Health in Helena. They are specific on what they want, which is great.

Used up some scraps with an outdoors, fishing theme for this mini version of my 5-Yard Everyday Quilt. The lap quilts are for recovering patients to take home when they leave the Hospital. They are optimistic & so am I!

St. Peter's Health provides a Mask design with tie options (instead of elastic, which I don't have & is impossible to find). DH cut a bunch of wire pieces from a roll of 20-gauge jewelry wire. This design has a nose piece & an insert for a filter.

I usually listen to audio books when assembly-line stitching. Although I've already listened to the Harry Potter series, I thought sewing a little "magic" into each mask would be a good thing - don't you agree? :)

I'm kind of slow with the stitching - especially the ties. Luckily, I found a Bias Strip gizmo at the bottom of a "tool drawer" that is now speeding things up - more masks coming soon!  And, maybe another lap quilt or two!  As always, sewing small things with great ❤ ... faith.
